engineer and team lead with ten-plus years building, scaling, and owning complex web applications in logistics, asset tracking, and data-heavy enterprise systems. i lead frontend architecture, mentor engineers, and turn product requirements into resilient, high-quality ui systems. the focus is react, typescript, design systems, and long-term maintainability in large codebases, with hands-on java and node on the backend.
how i work
- prefer tools that produce plain files i can move, version, and grep.
- answer first, then context. short sentences. no filler.
- ship small and often. ten rough notes beat one polished draft that never lands.
experience
engineering team lead
2022-04 – now · 4 yr 7 mo- lead a team of 4–6 frontend engineers on the core shipment visibility platform, with regular 1:1s, mentoring, and technical coaching.
- beyond my own team, set up guidelines, delivery flows, and processes for the other teams in the department and review their work: around 13 engineers and 4 manual testers in all, without managing them directly.
- run hiring for my team and other teams in the department. redesigned the hiring flow for a changing market with testgorilla skills tests and 15-minute developer screenings.
- own org-wide engineering standards, including repository maintenance rules and commit conventions.
- built skycell's knowledge base from scratch to production, with an ai assistant that answers from the articles: pgvector retrieval filtered by each reader's permissions, cited answers from a self-hosted llm, and a grounding check that returns "no answer" instead of guessing. it is embedded as a help widget in another skycell product.
- shipped an mcp server for the knowledge base so ai agents can search and edit articles under oauth, with ai-authored edits tagged for human review.
- introduced ai guardrails and agent instructions across our repositories, so coding agents follow the same standards and reviews as the engineers.
- led compliance work for gdpr and gamp 5, and prepared the platform for pharma customer audits and traceability requirements.
- evaluated the codebase of a product before we bought it, then planned how to integrate it with ours.
- led react native and expo development of two production apps, an android iot gateway and a cross-platform qr and barcode asset scanner, including ci/cd and app store and google play releases.
- hands-on across the stack: java and hibernate microservices behind the node and graphql layer, observed through logz.io.
- defined the frontend architecture across multiple teams, reducing duplicated platform work, and partner with product and design leadership on the roadmap.
senior software engineer
2021-06 – 2022-04 · 11 mo- built the react and typescript shipment visibility platform from scratch to enterprise adoption, now sold to a major european airline cargo group; ~30% better perceived ui performance through targeted architecture work.
- cut regression bugs from about 25% of releases to under 10%.
frontend engineer, igaming
~2018 – 2021- built and maintained ui for a licensed real-time sports-betting platform whose traffic spikes on event days.
full-stack engineer, identity verification and government systems
~2016 – 2018- built ui for identity-verification and surveillance systems in a regulated, security-sensitive domain.
- wrote c++ and javascript services that exchanged binary data with remote secure server sites and reported their state: temperature, humidity, door, and safety checks.
full-stack engineer, selected contract work
2014-03 – 2021-06 · 7 yr 4 mo- clients included baku city circuit (formula 1) and the european games committee.
- end-to-end web apps for other clients across frontend and backend, from rest apis and data flows to deployment, owning scope and timelines solo.
- php work, including the ganjamall.az website for a shopping centre in ganja.
programming instructor
2016-09 – 2021-05 · 4 yr 9 mo- taught and mentored beginners into working junior developers: early proof that growing people is the part of the job i like most.
earlier php software engineer, 404 agency (baku, 2014–2016)

side projects
- langenesis — an interactive time-tree of the world's languages, drawn as a metro map, every lineage from proto-ancestor to modern form.
- repo-atlas — an architecture map built from each repository's own github metadata, so it cannot rot into fiction.
- my-context — a personal context vault, plain markdown files about who i am and how i work, exposed to claude through a read-only mcp connector.
- dealgraph — relationship intelligence. turns a firm's warm contacts and public sec deal data into a ranked shortlist of people worth meeting, plus the warm-intro path to each.
- stillwiki — a self-hostable markdown knowledge base where drafts stay private until a reviewer publishes them.
- forge-mermaid-macro — an atlassian forge macro that renders mermaid diagrams inside confluence pages, so diagrams stay editable text instead of screenshots.
